Round 5 gives us a clear shape. Pay for two premiums, take a strong mid-price forward and guard, then lean hard on a couple of underpriced bigs whose roles are growing. These EuroLeague Fantasy Round 5 tips start from our projections and then test them against the wider conversation. That second step shows where the market is mispricing players this week.
The headline: our optimal 100-credit lineup projects 168.3 points using 99.9 credits. It is built around Elijah Bryant and Mathias Lessort, and the cheap bench does more work than usual.

Bryant is the highest projection in the build at 24.4. The broader read agrees with us here. He gets to the line, produces efficiently per minute, and faces Besiktas at home. If you make one premium move this round, make this one.
Bacon at 13.5 credits for 20.7 is the quiet strength of the lineup. Dubai’s frontcourt is thin. Kenan Kamenjas, Mam Jaiteh and Justin Anderson are all listed out, and Dzanan Musa and Klemen Prepelic are doubtful. If either doubtful player sits, Bacon’s usage could climb further. Treat that as something to watch, not something to bank on.
Maledon and Feliz both benefit from a depleted Real Madrid roster. Sergio Llull, Gabriel Deck, Gabriele Procida and Max Shulga are all out. Real’s habit of spreading minutes evenly still caps the ceiling. Even so, 19.7 at 11.2 credits is hard to ignore.
Captain picks
| Player | Team | Opp | Credits | Proj |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sasha Vezenkov | OLY | VBC | 17.6 | 22.26 |
| Mathias Lessort | PAO | PAR | 15.8 | 22.24 |
| TJ Shorts | VBC | OLY | 15.7 | 21.8 |
| Jonas Valanciunas | ZAL | FBT | 16.1 | 21.03 |
| Dwayne Bacon | DUB | KBA | 13.5 | 20.71 |
Vezenkov and Lessort are essentially level, separated by 0.02. Our optimal team gives the armband to Lessort because he costs 1.8 credits less, and those credits fund Bryant. Lessort was last round’s MVP, and some analysts worry that his price is rising faster than his floor justifies. We see no sign of that in the projection.
Vezenkov is the popular captain this week. Much of that is bounce-back logic after a rare single-digit outing. Our numbers support him as a captain. They just don’t make him essential once Bryant is in the lineup. If you already own him, keeping him and giving him the armband is perfectly defensible.
Best bargains
| Player | Team | Credits | Proj | Value |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Oscar Da Silva | BAY | 7.3 | 17.63 | 2.42 |
| Aliou Diarra | VIR | 8.6 | 17.28 | 2.01 |
| Tosan Evbuomwan | BAR | 9.1 | 16.94 | 1.86 |
| Leopold Cavaliere | PBB | 5.1 | 9.14 | 1.79 |
| Theo Maledon | RMB | 11.2 | 19.73 | 1.76 |
Da Silva and Diarra also lead our rising-price list, with 8.73 and 7.11 of room to grow. That makes them both points plays and credit-building plays. Da Silva also tops our rising-role list at 7.0, ahead of Kobi Simmons (4.5), Chris Jones (4.4), Tremont Waters (4.4) and Rj Cole (4.3).
Evbuomwan misses the optimal team on budget, not merit. At 9.1 credits for 16.94, he is the obvious swap if you prefer a sturdier floor over Cavaliere’s 9.1.
Coach
Pablo Laso leads our coach projections at 9.93, ahead of Xavi Pascual and Zeljko Obradovic at 9.0 each. Laso also costs only 6.3 credits. Opinion on him is split. One camp sees Efes as due a home win. The other says Efes have looked lost while Bayern have looked organised. We side with the number, but it is not a strong conviction pick.
Where we disagree with the consensus
Oscar Da Silva: we are much higher
This is the biggest gap of the week. The wider view treats Da Silva as a pleasant budget option after his first big game back from injury trouble. We have him as the best value on the board.
The reason is the Bayern injury list. Kilian Fischer is out, and Johannes Thiemann, Vladimir Lucic and Rokas Jokubaitis are all doubtful. If even two of those three sit, Da Silva’s minutes become structural rather than circumstantial. If they all play, his projection is the one most exposed in our lineup.
Theo Maledon: we hold, others are wobbling
Some managers are moving off Maledon for Jean Montero, citing his up-and-down output and a captaincy that failed last round. We think that is recency bias. Real’s injury list is long, the Milan matchup suits his driving game, and 1.76 value at his price puts him among our top five bargains.
Laso: we trust the projection over the eye test
Efes have not looked good, and that is a fair concern. But a 6.3-credit coach projecting at the top of the board frees money that matters elsewhere. If you cannot stomach it, Pascual and Obradovic are level behind him.
The popular budget names we pass on
Scottie Wilbekin, Braxton Key and Semi Ojeleye are widely backed as budget staples. None of them reaches our optimal build. They are not bad picks. Da Silva, Diarra and Cavaliere simply project more per credit this round. Davidovac does make our team, for the same reason others like Ojeleye. Crvena zvezda are missing Johnathan Motley, Ebuka Izundu and Vojin Medarevic, so frontcourt minutes are available.
A caution on Mike James
He has been floated as a differential. Our injury data lists him as out for this round, so leave him alone.
Players to monitor
- Amir Coffey (HTA) is doubtful. His absence could tilt even more usage toward Bryant.
- Musa and Prepelic (DUB) are both doubtful, which is relevant to Bacon’s ceiling.
- Thiemann, Lucic and Jokubaitis (BAY) are the key swing for Da Silva.
- Shane Larkin (FBT) is doubtful ahead of the Zalgiris game, which matters for anyone weighing Valanciunas.
FAQ
Who should I captain in EuroLeague Fantasy Round 5?
Lessort is our pick at 22.24, essentially tied with Vezenkov at 22.26. Lessort is cheaper, which is why he anchors our optimal team.
Is Elijah Bryant worth 17.3 credits?
Yes. His 24.4 projection is the highest in our lineup, and the matchup is favourable. He is the move we would prioritise above all others.
Which cheap players offer the best value?
Oscar Da Silva (2.42 value) and Aliou Diarra (2.01) lead the way. Tosan Evbuomwan is the best alternative just above them in price.
Several of these picks lean on injury situations that could change quickly. Check the latest injury news before the round locks, especially for Bayern, Dubai and Hapoel.
