Premier League DFS Early Look Week 6 (2026-27): Fanteam Captains, Stacks & Value

This is our Premier League DFS early look week 6, and it comes with plenty of time before lock. The international break sits between rounds, with 21 days between deadlines and the first kickoff on Saturday 10 October at 14:00 UTC. That leaves more than nine days for fitness news to settle. Nine matches make up the slate, the budget is 108.0 and you can pick up to three players per club.

Several important attackers carry fitness flags right now. Treat everything below as a starting framework rather than a final answer. Our projections update until lock, so check late team news before the deadline.

Captain options for our Premier League DFS early look week 6

Erling Haaland leads the slate at 5.64 projected points for 11.2. His 46.3% chance to score is far ahead of anyone else, and he is on penalties. Liverpool is a tough opponent on paper, and the match projects fairly even. We still trust him, because his route to points does not depend on City dominating. He only needs one or two chances to fall his way.

Bruno Fernandes (5.47) and Bryan Mbeumo (5.31) are right behind him. United host Spurs with a 55.4% win probability and 2.06 projected goals, tied for the best attacking outlook on the slate. There is a reasonable argument against Bruno. United’s form has been poor and his recent returns have been thin. We think that undersells him. The chances have been there, and he takes penalties, corners and free kicks. Our projections have him second overall, and we are comfortable treating a quiet run as noise.

For a big-swing pick, Johan Manzambi (4.17, ceiling 9.95) and Marcus Tavernier (3.86, ceiling 9.92) both have best-case games well above their averages. Charalampos Kostoulas (3.9, ceiling 9.64) gives Brighton exposure at forward. These are tournament plays, not cash-game captains.

Stacks to build around

The United pairing of Bruno and Mbeumo is our most used stack, appearing in 6 of our 15 lineups. It costs 26.1 and projects 10.8 points. That is expensive, but it puts two captain-level options in one matchup and lets you choose the armband late.

The stack we find most interesting is Haaland and Antoine Semenyo. It projects 10.4 for just 21.9, which makes it cheaper than United and nearly as productive. Yet it appears in only 2 of our 15 lineups. The reason is Semenyo’s ankle flag. He is listed with a 75% chance of playing, and City rotate heavily beyond Haaland. If he trains fully during the break, this pairing becomes very efficient.

Chelsea host Bournemouth with 2.06 projected goals. We prefer Morgan Rogers (4.85) to Cole Palmer (4.77) there. Rogers plays higher up the pitch and finishes more moves, while Palmer has been dropping deep to carry the ball and has a muscular flag. Newcastle’s Harvey Barnes and Yoane Wissa (23.0, 9.1) are a steadier middle-price option against Coventry, and Wissa’s 31.0% chance to score is the second best among forwards.

Value by position

Goalkeepers

Jordan Pickford tops the position at 3.74 for 9.4. Everton’s 33.81% clean-sheet chance against Hull is the best on the slate. The value pick is Gianluigi Donnarumma at 6.7, projecting 3.54 with an 8.4 ceiling. Do not use Kjell Scherpen or John Victor. Both are listed as unexpected starters despite decent projections. We are also lower than many on Antonín Kinský. Spurs’ clean-sheet chance at United is just 12.05%, and he ranks well down our board.

Defenders

Maxim De Cuyper (9.4, 3.55) has the best ceiling among defenders at 9.52. Everton’s James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite suit that clean-sheet outlook, but remember the stacking penalty if you pair them with Pickford and they all keep a clean sheet. Marc Guéhi at 6.3 (3.22) is the cheap standout. Leif Davis (7.9, 3.18) has attacking output that makes him more than a clean-sheet bet, and he is in our best lineup.

Lewis Hall has plenty of appeal against Coventry because he adds set pieces and attacking play to Newcastle’s defensive chances. We are cooler on him. He ranks outside our top 100, and Newcastle have allowed a lot of chances. Luka Vuskovic’s set-piece threat is real, but he also ranks modestly for us. Leave Antonio Silva alone this week. He is an interesting set-piece target, but Bournemouth’s 12.05% clean-sheet chance at Chelsea is too low.

Midfielders and forwards

Spurs midfielders top our points-per-salary list. Rodrigo Bentancur (4.9), Savinho (6.8, 3.78) and Sandro Tonali (6.2) all project well for their price. Ryan Christie (5.1), Boubacar Kamara (6.6) and Regan Slater (6.2) round out the cheap tier. Up front, Omar Marmoush at 7.5 projects 4.03 and makes a two-forward build with Haaland workable.

Our best lineup uses exactly that approach. It goes three at the back with Haaland, Marmoush and five midfielders, including Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Morgan Gibbs-White. It projects 53.8 points with Haaland as captain and Bruno as vice-captain.

Underdogs and set-piece takers

Bournemouth are only given a 25.03% win chance at Chelsea, but that game projects 1.43 goals for them. Chelsea have looked vulnerable at the back, which is why Tavernier and Rayan (7.2, 3.58, ceiling 9.08) appeal. Tavernier could also inherit penalties if Justin Kluivert is missing. Watch that, but do not count on it. He does tend to come off late, which trims his floor.

Liverpool at 34.08% are a live underdog against City. Dominik Szoboszlai (9.8, 4.16) takes penalties, corners and free kicks, and Florian Wirtz (10.0, 4.08) is close behind. Alexander Isak (0.75 start probability) looks less sharp and may be taken off early. Sunderland’s Enzo Le Fée (8.0, 3.74) is a reasonable contrarian midfielder against Brighton.

For set pieces, Gibbs-White (4.58) takes penalties and free kicks for a Forest side that runs through him. Emiliano Buendía (4.2) has the same duties at Villa. Thierno Barry is on Everton penalties with a 31.6% chance to score, although his finishing has been frustrating. Pascal Gross handles all three dead-ball roles for Brighton. His recent output has run ahead of the chances he has created, so we see him as a solid mid-rank option rather than a core piece.

Who to watch before lock

This is the section that matters most over the break. Semenyo, Palmer, João Pedro, Cody Gakpo and Marcus Rashford are all listed with a 75% chance of playing. João Pedro is also only a possible starter, at a 0.3 start probability. At 13.0 he is a poor bet until his fitness is clear, and a one-striker build around Haaland looks cleaner anyway.

Use the safety net sensibly. If Semenyo is in your lineup and does not start, the closest-priced cheaper midfielder in your lineup who does start takes his place. So a flagged premium should be covered by a starter a little below him in price. Remember that a player who only comes off the bench scores nothing for you. Also keep an eye on Kaoru Mitoma’s return, since it could eventually threaten De Cuyper’s role, even though Mitoma is not a factor for this round.
