NBA DFS GPP Breakdown: March 20th on FanTeam

Welcome back to the daily fantasy grind! We have a massive Friday slate on FanTeam to dive into. If you thought the EuroLeague injuries were wild, the NBA injury report is here to say, “Hold my giant foam finger.”

Let’s break down the elite anchors, the injury news you actually need to monitor for tonight, and the value gems that will win you some GPPs!

Critical Friday Injury Updates

You cannot win a FanTeam GPP if you are fielding ghosts. Instead of looking ahead to the weekend, let’s focus on tonight’s most important news.

In Detroit, the Pistons have officially ruled out Marcus Sasser for Friday’s game against the Warriors with right hip soreness. The Pistons also have Kevin Huerter (shoulder) and big man Jalen Duren (ankle) listed as questionable for tonight’s contest. On the other side of that matchup, Golden State’s Quinten Post is out with a foot injury.

Over in New York, we need to eagerly monitor Karl-Anthony Towns, who is questionable for Friday’s game against the Nets due to personal reasons. If he sits, that opens up a ton of usage for the rest of the Knicks! Meanwhile, the Nets are dealing with an illness to Terance Mann, who is expected to miss tonight’s game.

Additionally, Indiana’s Ivica Zubac is sadly out for the season with a fractured rib, and Washington’s Anthony Davis remains sidelined through the end of March with a finger injury.

Elite Spend-Up Anchors

If you want to take down a tournament today, these are the massive ceiling plays you need to build around.

Nikola Jokic (C, DEN)

The Joker is simply playing a different sport right now. He boasts a slate-breaking 64.4 projection at a 20.5M salary. Incredibly, that still yields a fantastic 3.14 value multiplier. He is the safest, highest-ceiling play on the board and projects for a massive 6.6 FanTeam Preference score.

Jalen Johnson (PF, ATL)

If you cannot quite afford Jokic, Jalen Johnson is your next best bet. Priced at 17.6M, he projects for a massive 46.2 points. This yields a strong 2.62 value multiplier for your FanTeam lineups.

Jalen Duren (C, DET)

If he clears his questionable tag, Duren is an elite center target. At 14.5M, he is projecting for 43.9 points with a phenomenal 4.8 FT-Pref score. Keep an eye on the news leading up to lock!

Top Value Gems & Salary Relief

To afford Jokic’s massive 20.5M contract, you will need the absolute best budget pieces to make the math work. Thankfully, the data points clearly to some massive value gems today.

Daniss Jenkins (PG, DET)

With Sasser officially out, Jenkins is an absolute smash play. At just 9.0M, he projects for 32.0 points. This gives him a slate-leading 3.56 value multiplier, making him the absolute best point-per-dollar play available. Lock him in!

Derrick White (PG, BOS)

White is incredibly underpriced at 11.6M today. He gives you a very safe 36.5 projected points and an elite 3.14 value multiplier. He is a brilliant mid-tier building block.

Deep Punts

If you are jamming in both Jokic and Johnson, you will need extreme salary savers. Look to Toronto’s Sandro Mamukelashvili, who costs just 5.4M and yields an elite 3.40 value. Similarly, Portland’s Robert Williams is priced at 7.2M and offers a fantastic 3.30 value multiplier.

In conclusion, keep refreshing that injury report, lock in your value guards, and good luck taking down those Friday FanTeam GPPs!
