Tonight’s NBA slate is defined by extreme injury news and missing superstars. This completely opens up the value board, allowing you to comfortably pay up for some of the highest-projecting ceiling plays we’ve seen all season.

Critical Injury News & Usage Shifts
Before locking in your lineups, you must account for these major absences that are creating extreme value opportunities:
- Minnesota Timberwolves: While Anthony Edwards is not explicitly named on the latest injury report updates, he is completely absent from the FanTeam projections. With him off the slate against the Suns, a massive amount of usage opens up for the rest of the Timberwolves roster.
- Washington Wizards: The Wizards are severely decimated tonight. Trae Young (quadriceps), Bilal Coulibaly (heel), Alex Sarr (hamstring), and Leaky Black (ankle) have all been officially ruled out against the Pistons.
- New York Knicks: Jalen Brunson has been downgraded to doubtful with an ankle injury, and Mitchell Robinson is questionable with a back issue.
- Miami Heat: Star center Bam Adebayo is downgraded to doubtful with a calf injury.
- Chicago Bulls: Isaac Okoro is doubtful, and Collin Sexton is questionable to play.
- Phoenix Suns: Grayson Allen is doubtful to play against the Timberwolves, and Haywood Highsmith is questionable
Core Plays: The Elite Tier
Above all we need to play the top players and we got plenty of them tonight.
Nikola Jokic (C, DEN)
- Salary: 21.3M | Projection: 66.7 | Value: 3.13 Jokic is in a tier of his own tonight. He boasts a slate-breaking 66.7 projected points and an absurd 6.8 FT-Pref (FanTeam Preference) score. Even at his massive 21.3M price tag, he is providing a 3.13 value rating, making him an absolute priority for cash games and GPPs alike.
Victor Wembanyama (PF, SAS)
- Salary: 19.0M | Projection: 57.3 | Value: 3.02 If you can’t afford Jokic, or want to attempt a double-spend-up build, Wembanyama is the next best option. He projects for 57.3 points with a near-elite 5.8 FT-Pref score, making him a phenomenal tournament anchor.
Giannis Antetokounmpo (PF, MIL) & Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (PG, OKC)
- Salaries: 18.5M & 18.7M Both superstars project right around 50 points tonight. While their FT-Pref scores (4.8 for Giannis, 4.6 for SGA) trail Jokic and Wembanyama slightly, they make for excellent contrarian pay-up pivots in large-field tournaments
Top Value & Mid-Tier Targets
Next in line are the top values.
Tonight’s slate is won by plugging in the right backup players stepping into elevated roles:
First of all we have the Minnesota Timberwolves Value Fill-Ins
With Edwards off the board, several Timberwolves become premium plays:
- Ayo Dosunmu (PG): At just 7.5M, Dosunmu projects for 28.8 points and carries a massive 3.85 value rating and an elite 4.5 FT-Pref score.
- Naz Reid (C): Priced at 8.8M, Reid offers a 30.1 point projection and a strong 3.43 value multiplier.
- Bones Hyland (PG): An extreme value at 6.0M, projecting for 22.1 points with a 3.69 value.
- Julius Randle (PF) & Rudy Gobert (C): For strong mid-tier options, Randle (12.4M, 37.6 proj) and Gobert (11.0M, 33.0 proj) both provide very safe 3.0+ value floors.
Kel’el Ware (C, MIA)
- Salary: 9.8M | Projection: 36.8 | Value: 3.76 With Bam Adebayo doubtful to play, Ware becomes a near-mandatory value play. At just 9.8M, he projects for 36.8 points and carries a massive 5.3 FT-Pref score alongside a 3.76 value multiplier.
Josh Hart (SG, NYK)
- Salary: 10.2M | Projection: 36.3 | Value: 3.56 Someone has to absorb the massive usage void left by Jalen Brunson’s likely absence. Hart is vastly underpriced at 10.2M for a 36.3 point projection, giving him an elite 4.9 FT-Pref. (Note: If you need a pure punt play from the Knicks, Jose Alvarado projects for 20.0 points at the bare minimum 5.0M salary, yielding a 4.01 value).
Another interesting value spot are the Washington Wizards Value Fill-Ins
With Young, Coulibaly, and Sarr all out, the Wizards offer several elite salary-savers:
- Will Riley (SF): 8.7M salary, 28.1 projection, 3.22 value.
- Tristan Vukcevic (PF): 8.2M salary, 26.0 projection, 3.17 value.
- Bub Carrington (PG): 7.8M salary, 24.8 projection, 3.18 value.
- Julian Reese (PF): Extreme punt play at 5.5M, projecting for 22.1 points with a massive 4.02 value rating.
Keldon Johnson (SF, SAS)
Salary: 6.5M | Projection: 28.0 | Value: 4.31 Johnson boasts the highest pure value multiplier on the entire slate at 4.31. At just 6.5M, projecting for 28 points, he is an incredible building block to help you afford both Jokic and Wembanyama in the same lineup
